A beautiful show giving a platform to 4 POC fashion designers; 3 from the middle east and one from Kenya. Each designer had a completely different style and aesthetic. We were able to put out an open call for models, and had the honor to work with more than 20 models, all entirely diverse and beautiful!!! This event was all about accepting heritage whilst pushing boundaries forward. There was a band, Nawala, playing live music during the fashion show which allowed for real improvisation and play for the models- complete interaction of art. Nawala was also an entirely diverse group of performers (Tunisian, Egyptian, and Colombian- blending sound and rythm through an array of instruments). We ended the night with a beautiful electronic dance performance about vulnerability and masculinity by Federico Pipya.
